
Dimapur, Dec. 27 (EMN): The Eagles Club, K Station, celebrated its 25th anniversary-cum-11th Eagles Trophy, on Tuesday at the KSU ground, K Station, Tseminyu district.
The celebration was observed on the theme ‘Towards higher echelon’, with Rev. James Kath, pastor of KSBC, dedicating the anniversary monolith, an update informed.
Special guest, executive engineer, PWD (Housing), Abija Khing, inaugurated the anniversary celebration and released the jubilee souvenir, while Enock Seb, associate professor of Mt. TTC, Zunpha, was the guest speaker on the occasion.
Kenneth Kath, organising committee convener; Tezenthong Kath, president of Eagles Club; GK Rengma, president RSA;. Wasenlo Kath, president of Kandi Students’ Union and S Akhu Kath, member organising committee, also spoke on the occasion.
The special guest in his speech appreciated the club for its continuous growth and challenged the teams “to unravel the talents and carry forward and excel in the field of football.”
Khing also encouraged the club to live and keep up the vision of the founding members. He also declared the tournament open.
The guest speaker in his key note address spoke on the theme, highlighting its true meaning, which encompasses sincerity, discipline, determination, support and adjustment.
Seb also said that the priority of the game “is to win the hearts of the people, by displaying a good sportsmanship”.
Tiwalo Apon, games & sports secretary, led the oath-taking ceremony.
