Kohima, May 7 (EMN): The 1st Dzükou Shooting Championship cum training organised by the Dzukou Rifle Shooting Club, Kohima, and Aries Rifle & Pistol Shooting Academy, Dimapur concluded on Saturday at the Aries Shooting Range, Kohima.
The competitions was conducted by the Nagaland Rifle Association as per the National Rule (NR) 40 shots competitions in two events; 10meter .177 Peep Sight Air Rifle Men & Women Individual Championship and 10meter Air Pistol Men & Women Individual.
During the championship, Thejavizo Sorhie of Upper A.G. Colony, Kohima got the first position in 10 meter .177 Peep Sight Air Rifle Men Individual, while Renben. M of Riverbelt Colony, Dimapur bagged the second and third by Changjilong Imchen of Cool Greek Hostel, Mokokchung.
For women’s category in 10 meter .177 Peep Sight Air Rifle Women Individual, Vivi Jane Sorhienuo of Upper A.G. Colony, Kohima got the first position and Neisalhounuo Visakuo of Upper A.G. Colony, Kohima in second.
For 10 metre Air Pistol men individual, Metekhrielie Mejura of Roy Sharon, Officer’s Hill, Kohima won the first position, Seyievituo Whuorie of Para Medical Colony, Kohima in second and 3rd by Athisu Andrew of Quasar Club, Lower A.G.Colony, Kohima.
Altogether 30 shooters registered for the competitions and Nito Yeptho an 8-year-old boy also participated in the championship.
The competitions were managed by range officer Tijen Sharma, chief classification officer L.Tomba and Merang Jamir ISSF Judge as the jury for the competitions.
