Dimapur, Aug. 3 (EMN): Nagaland Dy. Chief Minister Y Patton has warned errant government servants. He said stern and immediate action should be taken against irresponsible government servants.
A press release received here on Aug. 3, informed that the deputy chief minister, said those words while inaugurating the Lotha Students' Union office in Wokha as the special guest.
Patton lamented that despite the government effort to improve the quality education to the government schools, most of the government schools in the state continue to produce 'nil result'.
In this regard, Patton said that 'irresponsible teachers are to be blamed to a large extend for the cause'. Therefore, he urged the students' leaders to thoroughly inspect and check the irresponsible teachers.
Patton maintained that most of the departments in the district and sub-division are becoming “non-resourceful” and not meeting the public services due to negligent officer. He, therefore, urged the district administration to be vigilant with those departments and report to the government for further course of action.
The deputy chief minister sought the cooperation and support of the NGOs and civil societies in order to serve the public at the larger interest.
Patton asserted that ‘public should not always criticise the government for any mistake or failure but, should also learn to inculcate the habit of appreciating, when the government is working for the welfare of the people'.
Besides, Patton also appealed the district administration and all the Lotha frontal organizations 'not to allow any new constructions at the stretch of national highway-2 from Longsa gate to Mokokchung, as he stated that unnecessary compensations will hamper any further developmental activities. “Patton stated that the amount has been already earmarked and the construction work will take up at the earliest," the release stated.
Later the deputy CM inaugurated the newly constructed LSU, Office building.
Advisor Food and Civil Supply and NSDMA, Phukayi, while exhorting the audience, said that the Lotha tribe are achieving in many competitive fields. He urged the upcoming generation ‘to uphold this competitive culture in the long run'.
While dwelling on the present Naga context, the advisor stated that the present Naga generation are heading nowhere due to lack of unity and disintegration. To this he said Nagas need to learn - socially and politically - how to live together with positive attitude.
Former president of LSU, Subenthung Lotha also spoke on the ocassion.
LSU President Libemo Lotha in his welcome address, acknowledged the district Forest department for donating the LSU office building site.
LSU office Building was officially dedicated by executive secretary, LBES, Rev. Nyanchumo Lotha.
The inaugural programme was attended by dignitaries including the deputy commissioner Wokha, SP Wokha, DFO wokha, Lotha Hoho and Lotha Women Hoho officials, the release further stated.
