Dimapur, July 2 (EMN): Nagaland Governor BP Archarya today reminded the people, especially the government officials, that it is the duty and responsibility of every educated person to work for the uplift and strenghtening of the most neglected and poor people in the society.
A DIPR news report received at Eastern Mirror office informed that the governor visited Dimapur on Mon. July 2 and held a meeting with the district officials to review the performances of different government departments at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall.
The governor reviewed the performances of the different flagship schemes of various departments. In this regard, Governor Archarya reminded the government officials that the flagship schemes are aimed for the uplift of the poor and underprivileged section of the society.
He therefore, urged the government officials to make sure that the targeted people are benefited with such schemes. In this regard, the governor appealed the officers in the district to point out or to give suggestion to the Government for better and effective implementation of different programmes.
While making a strong point that it is the duty and responsibility of every educated person, the governor encouraged all the officers in the district to work towards the uplift and strengthening of the most neglected and poor people in the society.
The governor also expressed deep concern over the poor result of government schools and therefore asked the department officials to have a vision in sorting out the whatever reasons behind the poor performance.
On the question of law and order situation in the district, the Commissioner of Police, Limasunep Jamir (IPS) asserted that Dimapur, by and large was, peaceful.
The Dimapur police chief also briuefed the governor and presented a brief review of the of crime cases registered and it’s status under Dimapur district.
While exhorting officials, the Governor, BP Archarya described Nagaland as a beautiful state blessed with maximum natural resources.
He therefore called upon the people for identifying the avenues to make Nagaland an economically independent state.
He advised all the officers to be nodal agents of different flagship schemes and encouraged them to boldly stand up against corruption and to help create a conducive atmosphere in the district where everyone is treated equally and respected.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel who also delivered the welcome address. Deputy Commissioner also thanked the Governor for his visit and showing his concern for the district, the DIPR report further stated.
