Kohima, June 1 (EMN): The guest house of the department of Underdeveloped Areas (Duda) in Kohima reopened on June 1, after closing down for renovation.
The Duda's advisor N Bongkhao Konyak dedicated the reopening of the house, located at NH 61, Zienuobadze, High School colony in Kohima.
In his address, Konyak urged the people to have a sense of ownership for facilities such as the guest house.
Saying that the house was a popular stay for people from the eastern regions, he asked them to make best use of it.
He expressed belief that the guest house will serve also as a sort of protection for people in need.
The advisor for IPR, SCERT & Village Guards Toshi Wungtung also expressed happiness at the completion of the renovation work.
He emphasised on cleanliness and urged the people to keep the surroundings clean, besides ensuring proper management of the facility.
While calling the maintenance of the guest house a challenge, he urged the staffs to offer good service to guests.
Wungtung hoped that the guest house will receive a positive response.
The house's manager C Chenti Phom assured to maintain the guest house. Although it is a 'kind of business venture,' it doesn't mean only earning money but to serve the community well, he added.
