DUCCCF unwilling to collect tax on behalf of NPGs

EMN Dimapur, May 22 The Dimapur Urban Colonies Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCCF) adopted two resolutions at an emergent meeting on Wednesday last, held at the Lengrijan Council Hall, Dimapur. The meeting deliberated on issues related to ‘taxation’ by NPGs, development and social problems. and adopted the resolution to uphold the October 31st 2013 Public Rally Resolution of ‘One Govt.One Tax.’In a press release the DUCCCF strongly expressed their discomfort at acting against the sentiments of the public when it came to collecting taxes on behalf of the NPGs. The Federation states ‘since in any nation the voice of People is supreme. Therefore, the DUCCCF urges the NPGs not to pressurize the colonies leaders to collect tax on their behalf. Since, the ball is clearly in the court of the general Public” The meeting also resolved to check the black-marketing of LPG within their respective colonies. It also decided to impose a fine of Rs 5000/- on defaulters and the confiscation of LPG cylinders.
