DTF conducts random Covid testing drive in Phek

Dimapur, April 18 (EMN): Following detection of six  Covid-19 cases in the past one week, the Phek district task force (DTF) has geared up its activities to contain further spread of Covid cases in the district.

As part of its activities, DTF conducted a random sample Covid testing drive on April 17 in and around the Phek town on the high risk people, an update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Phek, stated. It stated that sample tests were conducted on the people involved in various commercial activities, bank officials and regional taxi drivers in which all were tested negative.

The drive was carried out by a team of personnel from the Health department comprising laboratory technicians, data manager IDSP, malaria consultant, district tuberculosis officer and district epidemiologist, police personnel and dobashis.

It further added that the activities would be continued on April 19 at Phek town.
