Dimapur Sakshi Union (DSU): has vehemently condemned the recent rape and sexual torture on two minor girls in a broad daylight by one Thunglim Lemba Chang, son of Yentin Mongba Chang of Hakchang village, at Tuensang town. DSU president A Thanlang Phom and the general secretary T Shahnyu Phom said such crime had created fear psychosis to every girl in today's civilised society. The union urged every right thinking citizens, civil societies to stand by to the victim's family until fair justice is received. The union further urged the State government agencies to award the highest punishment to the culprit so that such crime is not repeated again. Meanwhile, Tuensang unit of the Phom women organisation Phomla Holchem (PH) has strongly condemned the rape of two minors at Tuensang town on June 15 by one Thunglin Lemba Chang (21) and resident of Bazaar "A" Sector, Tuensang town.
Phomla Holchem has termed the incident ‘barbaric’ in nature and an act of brutality in considering the age of the victims. In condemning the incident, it called upon the right thinking citizens and responsible organisations to come forward and condemn the heinous crime.
Phomla Hoichem also appealed to the responsible authority to book the culprit under relevant sections of the laws and award capital punishment. The organisation president Phuhngoi Phom and the secretary Owmei Phom have urged to comfort the victims' family in their hour of shock and sorrow.
