EMN Dimapur, April 26 Dhansiri River Flood Control Board (DRFCB) has lauded the Parliamentary Secretary for Irrigation and Flood Control, Vekheho Swu, for his hard work by constructing embankment at Dhansiri tributaries. Meanwhile, the Board has expressed dissatisfaction over the construction of the ongoing embankment works alleging that it does not comply with the proposed estimate. The Board made the observation after visiting the operation areas along Dhansiri tributaries on April 14. It questioned whether the concerned department has not given proper direction or the contractors are not taking up the works properly. In the larger interest of the public, the Board has urged the competent authority to inspect the work and also requested to let the embankment reconstructed wherever it is required. It has asked the government not to pass the bill, if the work is not satisfied. DRFCB also requested the government to release the running bill to the contractors immediately for the completion of ongoing works at the earliest before the monsoon season hampers the works. This was stated in a joint press release issued by the Board chairman Hokheto Kiba, vice chairman P Hekuto Wotsa, and secretary Mukibur Rahman.
