He also expressed concern over excessive expenditure during elections, stating that capable individuals are often discouraged from contesting due to the perception that leadership is tied to wealth. Calling for change, he urged youngsters to elect leaders based on merit rather than financial strength.
He further stressed that education alone does not guarantee employment without skills and urged the youth to take advantage of government programmes focused on skill development and entrepreneurship. Encouraging a shift in mindset, he called on young people to step out of their comfort zones and work hard to achieve success.
Referring to the recently concluded eighth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Dr. Rhütso noted that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio allocated INR 20 lakh for each assembly constituency aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and skill development.
Furthermore, he encouraged the youth to actively participate in training and workshops under such initiatives.
During the day, students competed in events including football, volleyball, and spear-kicking, among others.
