IMPHAL — Dr. Sinam Subharani Devi, Scientist-D and head of the Central Silk Board's Regional Sericultural Research Station in Imphal, has received the prestigious CSB Best Scientist Award for her outstanding contributions to research and development, seed production, and extension activities in sericulture.
Her work has significantly impacted the field, showcasing her dedication and expertise.
Dr. Devi received the award from the Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, during the 76th Foundation Day celebrations of the Central Silk Board in Bangalore, held at Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad International Convention Centre on the University of Agricultural Sciences campus.
Senior technical assistant Kangjam Somorjit Singh of CSB-RSRS, Imphal, also received the CSB Best Technical Assistant Award for providing significant technical assistance in research, seed production, and extension and co-ordination activities.
The Central Silk Board also honoured the ‘Best Performed Districts’ and distinguished performers by considering the outstanding and effective campaigning under Mera Resham Mera Abhiman (MRMA) campaign initiated by the CSB for sericulture technology transfer and empowerment of rural silk farmers, particularly women by providing advanced techniques, technology and sustainable sericulture practices.
Dr. Devi and Assistant Director (Sericulture) Manipur, K Tahenleima Chanu, and district co-ordinator, Bishnupur, jointly received the award in recognition of their dedicated efforts and initiatives for effectively carrying out the MRMA campaign in Bishnupur district.
