WHERE is the ‘Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN)’, led by Naga People’s Front (NPF) which storm back to power for its third inning with promises of development and progress today? The question ‘where’ has become paramount at this juncture as promises made to the electorates have all become a lie with political instability becoming the order of the day. The Nagas did not vote the party to office for instability, selfish intentions and greed.
Having said that, my attention has been drawn to a news articles written by Kehouneiu, KC Angami, Samuel Sumi and revered Dr L. Souhie Mhasi, as they have all pointed out one thing in common – farce of RECONCILIATION. More so, I am surprised that a towering leader like Dr Shurhozelie is capable of stooping down so low for the love of power and wealth. Well, even for someone like me who is not built to understand the undercurrents of politics, it is now beyond doubt an eye opener as to who is responsible for the present political instability.
If reconciliation under the nose of four to five thousand people can become such a farce, the political health of the state definitely is not in good hands and needs a change of guard at the earliest. Democracy in a Christian state cannot and should not be ‘HEARTLESS’ and ‘SOULLESS’. As demeaning as it already is, someone has to apologize to the people who have believed in the party. Political vendetta cannot bring any good results. Similarly, suspensions and show cause notices cannot result in political stability and needs to stop. The question is – who will take the onus to apologize to the people?
What is more shocking is the party presidents’ silence over his Chief Ministers’ qualification issue. One cannot swear an oath to take office with a lie before God. If a lie is going to be our very foundation, what message are we giving out as a Christian state? As party chief, Dr Shurhozelie, you are morally obliged to comment on the issue.
The present political instability have once again brought shame to the Naga people as a result of few vested people and murdered even the word ‘Reconciliation’. Dr. Shurhozelie, I would like to remind you that Nagas now clearly understand your NPF’s intentions and will be ready with answers in the days to come if the situation is not corrected for the general welfare of the people.
