Kohima, July 18 (EMN): With the by-election to the 10 Northern Angami-I Assembly Constituency scheduled on July 29, NPF candidate and chief minister Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu officially launched the election campaign by inaugurating his office at his private residence, Rüleizou, L Khel, Kohima village, on July 18.
NPF working president, Huska Yepthomi, who inaugurated the office, was optimistic that there are higher courts to deliver justice as per the Constitution of India. It may be mentioned that Dr. Shürhozelie had filed a writ petition after the State Governor, PB Acharya, had asked the former to go for a floor test on or before July 15. However, Liezietsu refused and had gone to the court.
He has sought the support and cooperation of the party workers to ensure victory of Dr. Shürhozelie in the by-election.
The programme, chaired by Louis Solo, Secretary of 10 Northern Angami-1 A/C parent body, was attended by party workers in addition to public leaders. The programme commenced with invocation pronounced by Suosahie Sachü, treasurer of NPF, Kohima Division.
