MINISTER for Forests, Environment & Wildlife, Dr. Neikesalie Nicky Kire who inaugurated the new Forest Office complex at Old Ministers’ Hill, Kohima on Friday called upon the officers and staff of the department to maintain transparency in their work and coordinate with one another so as to deliver the best services to the people.
While lauding the department for having a compartmentalize way of functioning, the minister urged for more coordination. He discouraged the trend of working only for the sake of recognition from the centre and emphasised that focus should be given to the aspect which would be beneficial to the people.
Also, voicing concern over the seniority issue in the department, the minister said the matter needs to be taken up with urgency a b d further assured that the laid down service rule will be followed so that no one is victimized.
Meanwhile, Kire said the year 2013 has seen good transformation brought about for the department owing to joint efforts in providing safe passage for the migrating amur falcons through the state (in Wokha district) and the state has been dubbed the Amur Falcon capital of the world. He hoped that people will visit the area and witness what is in front of them.
PCCF & HOFF M Lokeswara Rao chaired the inaugural function of the complex. Several dignitaries also attended the programme including parliamentary secretaries Er. Vikho-o Yhoshü, Er. Picto and Vikheho Swu along with department officials among others.
