Kohima, November 26: In a move towards beautifying different colonies and wards in Kohima, minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire initiated cleaning and whitewashing to give facelift to the State capital.
As committed in the recent Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting, the minister provided colours and all painting materials to the different colonies and wards, while the work is being executed by the respective Panchayats in collaboration with colony/ward women and youth bodies and denizens.
In this connection, while some colonies executed the work some days back, several colonies and wards conducted mass social work today along with painting and beautification.
The minister personally went round the colonies and wards to inspect and also encouraged the people to uphold clean environment and also make Kohima more beautiful.
