DIMAPUR — Dr. Keduovinuo Keditsu Chielie, founding member and trustee of the Nagaland-based non-profit organisation Dr. K&T Keditsu Foundation, received the President’s invitation for the Republic Day “At Home” reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.
Amongst 207 invitees, including 10 other doctors, Dr. Keditsu Chielie was the only doctor from Nagaland and the Northeast to be recognised in the category for Public Health/Community Medicine, according to an update.
The exclusive event is hosted by the president of India annually on January 26. Invitees for this programme are selected on the basis of merit, distinction, and public service.
Key invitees included citizens and achievers who have made significant contributions in the fields of science, sports, and social work; people’s representatives and ground-level workers; government and official dignitaries, including members of the cabinet, parliament, senior servants, police personnel, and the judiciary; the diplomatic corps; and merit-based selections.

Dr. Keditsu Chielie is the first Master of Chirurgiae from Nagaland state, an alumnus of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, and a Cancer Prevention Fellow from the National Cancer Institute, Maryland, USA. She, along with her family of doctors, is involved in community service and outreach programmes with a special focus on cancer awareness and prevention, women empowerment, and education.
Cancer Aid Nagaland is an initiative of Dr. Keditsu Chielie, providing financial aid of up to INR 1,00,000 for indigenous Naga tribal cancer patients since 2019.
The Dr. K&T Foundation is known for charitable work across Naga tribal communities, conducting free medical camps, free surgeries, and free cancer screening for oral, cervical, and breast cancer, and giving financial assistance for medical treatment to the underprivileged over the past decade.
Through collaboration with local and national organisations, notably RML Cancer Foundation Nagaland, Biocon Foundation Bengaluru, and Naga tribal bodies and village councils, the beneficiaries of Dr. K&T Keditsu Foundation have reached 12,000 to date.
