Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): Delhi Public School (DPS) was declared winner of the 5th inter-school music fest held on June 12. The inter-school music fest was organised by Delhi Public School in order to encourage, enhance and foster high level of musical expertise.
Six schools namely El-Shaddai Academy, Hope Academy, The Maple Tree School, Christina Memorial School, Eastern Academy and Delhi Public School participated in the inter-school music fest. Delhi Public School also earned the rolling trophy for winning the competition for three consecutive times.
Maple Tree and Hope Academy won the second and third positions respectively.
The event being an open genre competition, the participating teams performed interesting repertoire of spiritual, musical and hymn arrangement, displaying their musical professionalism and versatility as singers and musicians.
Kavili Jakhalu, Principal of Dimapur Government College, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In her address, she talked about the pervasive influence of music, the 3Cs of creativity, communication and co-operation.
The judges for the competition were Asin Shurhozelie, founding director of RS Academia; Kevi Niebulie Kiso, managing director of The Jam Tree Music Institute; Vizho Thakro, music director of Town Baptist Church, Dimapur.
