Dimapur, July 4: Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has decided to adopted one village each from all the constituencies in the district as model village to encourage economic growth and to boost production.
The decision to this effect was taken during the monthly DPDB meeting on July 4 in the DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of the Parliamentary Secretary of Soil and Water Conservation, Pukhayi Assumi. The house has also nominated members to select the village.
Addressing the members, Pukhayi stressed on the need to have a separate logo for Zunheboto District Planning Board. The members after thorough deliberations constituted a committee with SDO (C), Zunheboto, Hollohon, as convenor, HODs of Agri and Allied Sectors, DCO (Culture) and DFO (Forest) as members.
Meanwhile, the Board approved registration of VK People Organization, Green Club, Zunheboto, and opening of Kids Home Academy in Tokiye town.
ADC, Zunheboto, Nungsangmenla Imchen, also suggested for joint DPDB meeting with neighbouring districts so as to exchange views and also to understand the functioning of other districts.
Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change and Education Department have been entrusted to present power point on their activities in the next meeting.
