DPDB Niuland will visit schools and villages in October to verify project implementation and hold awareness seminars.

DIMAPUR — The Niuland District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at the DC conference hall, Niuland, on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Vice Chairman of DPDB Niuland, Sara S Jamir, while chairing the meeting, informed the members that as per the directive from Minister for Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, the DPDB members will be visiting the schools and villages in the first week of October.
This is to verify project implementation in the district and requested all the members to be prepared for the visitation programme, according to a DIPR report.
The DPDB members also approved the holding of seminars on the role of village council chairmen, GBs, and village development boards in all the 103 villages in the district. In this regard, the DC asked all the development departments to prepare for the PowerPoint presentation.

The purpose of the seminars is to sensitise the public about the roles of village council chairmen, GBs, and village development boards and also about how various state and central government schemes and projects are being implemented in the villages. The DC also reminded the concerned department officials to compulsorily get GPS-tagged photos for the entire programme.
From the Cooperation department, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Niuland, Bisinle Kemp, gave the PowerPoint presentation, while the Fisheries department was requested to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for the next DPDB meeting.
