  • DIMAPUR — The district planning and development board (DPDB) meetings for January for Mokokchung, Zunheboto, and Tuensang districts were held on Monday.

  • Mokokchung: The Mokokchung DPDB meeting was held at the DC conference hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman of the Mokokchung DPDB, Thsuvisie Phoji.

  • According to a DIPR report, initiating the meeting, the chairperson informed the members about the proposed visit of the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation to Mokokchung district.

  • While thanking all the departments for their participation in the second Cherry Blossom Festival at Longkhum village, the DC further urged the members to continue participating in the annual event to encourage the growth of the festival.

  • Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe, while informing the members about the successful completion of the first batch of the free coaching class for NPSE and NSSB indenting candidates from the district, which was initiated by the DPDB, also informed that registration for the coming year will commence in March.

  • Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, Vesupra Kezo, explained to the board members the implementation of 218 BNSS (CrPC) for the protection of government employees.

  • The District Planning Officer, Chuba Phom, also informed about the football exhibition match (officers) and penalty shootout (lady officers) to be played between Agri and Allied, Engineering Wing, and district administration and other departments on the occasion of Republic Day 2025.

  • Zunheboto: The Zunheboto DPDB meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali.

  • During the meeting, the board thoroughly discussed the work allocation and preparation for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations in the district.

  • The DC informed the members about the tentative visit of a union minister of state to the district after Republic Day and advised the heads of departments (HoDs) to be well-prepared with details on various schemes under their respective departments.

  • For the wellbeing of the district, the DC also appealed to the HoDs to set specific targets for 2025. Furthermore, the DC entrusted the EE Power with the responsibility of delivering a PowerPoint presentation at the next board meeting.

  • Tuensang: The Tuensang DPDB meeting was held at the DC conference hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman of the DPDB Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa.

  • After reviewing the minutes of last month's meeting, the house discussed work distribution and other logistical arrangements for the celebration of Republic Day in Tuensang town.

  • The vice chairman also reminded the board members about the collection of cash to contribute to the nutrition of TB patients in the district. The DC appealed to the heads of departments to remain in their respective places of posting and discharge their duties for the service of the public.

  • On the occasion, the house welcomed Dr. Zujanbeni N Ngullei, Tuensang; B Moasanen Imlong, EAC Tuensang; P Chillia, assistant engineer; Peter Libenthung, principal DIET; Oponthung Odyuo, DPO Social Welfare; and Sinlo Khing, Coy. Commander, Home Guard and Civil Defence, as its new members.
