Diphu, Jan.27 (EMN): The cricket team of District Press Club of Karbi Anglong (DPCKA) on Thursday left for Guwahati from council workshop, Diphu, to participate in the 3rd Raish Modi Nunisa Memorial Northeast Media Cricket Champion Trophy, 2022, being played at Judges Field, Guwahati, which started on Jan. 25.
The DPCKA will meet NK TV in their opening match on January 28. The team is led by president, DPCKA, Diganta Teron and general secretary, Danielson Bey.
Earlier, before departure from Diphu, Bey urged the media fraternity and people of Karbi Anglong to support the DPCKA team in the tournament and wish them good luck.
Azad Hussain, one of the team members and sports secretary, DPCKA, stated, “We have prepared well for the tournament and hopefully we will get a positive result in our opening match with NK TV. We need to focus well, when we take on our opponent team in field tomorrow. Good luck to our team”.
Altogether, 12 media houses are participating in the tournament and include DDK, ND-24, Shillong Press Club, NK TV, News Time Assam, DPCKA, Pratidin Time, Asomiya Pratidin, Silchar Press Club, DA News Plus, Prag News and My News NE.
