Wokha, Oct. 19 (EMN): The construction of Doyang Bridge at Liphayan Governors Camp in Wokha district started in December 2014, yet only 75% of work has been completed till date.
Executive Engineer R&B Dimapur Division Z Inahoto Sema, informed Eastern Mirror via telephone that working season had set in and all works were in progress, and 75% physical works had been completed. He assured that before April 2022, the works would be completed. He also mentioned that if the current work is carried out continuously, “then hopefully it could be completed within four to five months.”
It was also learned that the concerned department was pressuring the concerned contractor and constant monitoring was being done to complete the work at the earliest.
It may be mentioned that Liphayan Governors Camp Bridge has four slab/decks where two decks have been completed, while third one has been casted and the last deck is in progress, as per an update from the department.
Sema further said that earlier, there was hindrance in the works due to pandemic but since all restrictions have been relaxed, the works are in full swing, and assured that works would be completed at the earliest.
