DIMAPUR, AUGUST 13: Anchored firmly on the belief that society will do well, if we do well, the Dorians Society, an NGO based in Dimapur, has planned to contribute more to the society. This was reaffirmed at its 19th annual general meeting in which one of its members Meyi Longchar attributed friendship to be the result in the formation of Dorians Society.
Formed in the late 90s with the motto “Ohne hast ohne rast” (Without haste without rest), the executive editor of Eastern Mirror and Dorians Society member, K Wapong Longkumer, recounted on the formation of Dorians Society which began its activities with the construction of footpath, dustbin donation and construction of shop and with their main intention to inculcate dignity of labour.“The main motive of Dorians Society is to work with dignity without any official fund raise or donation drive,” reminded Longkumer to the members of Dorians Society.
He remarked that with the present Naga society taking time to recognise one another, the 19 years of Dorians Society should be the beginning of something.
