Dimapur, Aug. 28 (EMN): Dorians Society, in partnership with Impact Ministry and the Dimapur District Basketball Association, organised a nature-fitness walk on Saturday.
The 17.5-kilometre nature-fitness walk started at 5 am from Clock Tower junction and culminated at Chümoukedima.
As many as 50 participants, including an 11-year-old Jongari Jamir, who came all the way from Kohima along with his parents, took part in the walk.
During a brief programme, Wapong Longkumer, one of the founding members of Dorians Society, presented a brief history of the society, which was initially a club before registered as an NGO in order to undertake other activities for the benefit of society.
Dwelling on its motto “Ohne Hast Ohne Rast,” Longkumer affirmed that Dorians Society would not rest but continue to do something for a change.
In a run-up to the jubilee celebration of the Dorians Society in 2022, Longkumer informed that they had planned many things. He, however, stated that the members were unable to carry out any activity due to the pandemic.
As the pandemic has made everyone health-conscious, he said that the society would organise more of such activities before the jubilee celebration.
Word of encouragement was delivered by the headmaster of NPCS, Bendangchuba Pongen, and message and closing prayer was delivered by Temsu Longkumer, a member of Police Baptist Church, Chümoukedima.
