Dorians Society announces the 5th Spelling Bee 2026 on October 31 for schools in Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland.
DIMAPUR — The Dorians Society, Dimapur, has announced that the 5th Dorians Society Spelling Bee is scheduled to be held on October 31 at the Kingdom Culture Church, located in the Vikiye Complex on Tajen Ao Road (formerly Circular Road), opposite the Notun Basti junction.
The organising committee stated in a press release that an invitation has been extended to both government and private schools in Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland districts to participate in the upcoming competition.
Each school has been invited to nominate or select two students from Classes 7 and 8 to represent their institution, along with a teacher-coordinator to accompany the students.
To facilitate participation, there is a registration fee of INR 200 per student, while government school students will be exempt from the fee. The deadline for form submissions is October 23.

Participants have been requested to maintain punctuality and arrive at the venue by 9:30 am at the latest to complete formalities and avoid delay.
The competition will be overseen by a panel of judges and pronouncers or moderators selected by the organising committee. Each competitor will have a two-minute limit to spell a word from the dictionary, with the option to request the word's meaning, part of speech, etymology, and an example of its usage.
The top three finishers will receive cash prizes along with citations.
The primary objective is to promote healthy competition among students and provide them with a platform to go on to compete on bigger stages, the committee added.
