Profile of bands and singers performing for ‘Don’t You Cry’, a benefit concert for cancer cure
JACK PUCHO
Jack Pucho who has been leading worship team for more than 2 decades, is an accomplished musician, songwriter, preacher and teacher of the Word. He plays acoustic and electric guitars, composes music and lyrics of his own.
As a ministerial staff for more than 15 years at the Spirit of Faith Church, Jack has taken active part in several worship concerts and meetings all over the northeast and is also involved in the Management of ‘The Pursuit’ Worship Team. Recently, he co-partnered in starting a Worship Resource School, “The Warehouse”.
Jack believes in being a blessing, and always quotes,” We are blessed to be a blessing”.ARENLA SAYER
Arenla Sayer realized her gift of singing from a very early age by singing at school events and eventually taking part in contests and concerts. Her music venture was turned totally upside down after an encounter with Jesus Christ in the year 2005 wherein her focus became totally on worship ministry. Presently Arenla is leading the worship leader in Sinai Ministry.
Delighted with the proposal to perform one of her originals during the concert, Arenla says, ‘I was happy and excited not because of the chance to sing but because of the opportunity to extend my best in support of the noble cause. When I heard of Lamstala’s sickness, I mourned in my heart for her and I prayed for her. I thought would share words of encouragement to her through Facebook since I am not closely associated with her but something just stopped me, prompting me to wait till the right moment. I guess it was for this.’
She wishes to be a part of the revolutionizing concert as it supports a very genuine cause - in this modern context we can say healing and sharing love through music.
THEJA MERU
Theja Meru who presently heads the DREAM CORP is a passionate music lover. “It has been a pleasure to work with so many gifted musicians over the years, especially through the initiative of the Rattle and Hum Music Society of which I am the president” says Theja Meru. Over the years he has also taken some business initiative to support himself and his family and currently heads Dream Cafe and the Heritage in Kohima.
Ecstatic to be part of ‘Don’t You Cry’ project, Meru states “To bring a cheer and smile to a life facing a difficult situation can never go wrong and I am looking forward to the concert”.
TALI ANGH
Believing in the stand he is taking more than the music, Tali Angh believes it is God’s given right for all of us to be free from suffering and that there is power and authority to conquer and claim healing and wholeness, if only we have trust.
His deep compassion compelled him to respond to the sufferings of this world with what he has been blessed with. Excited about the fact that there are so many who have joined hands in agreement with this truth; he says “I am believing for breakthrough. Come let’s do this together!”
UDX
UDX Band have been together as a band since March 2008 and have toured in different places like Kazakhstan, Delhi ,Shillong, Guwahati and almost all the districts of Nagaland. They play songs about life and walking with God. The primary goal of the band has always been to influence the younger generation who are vital in the development of a better tomorrow.
“We are not playing in this concert because we feel sorry for Lamtsala and Aunty. But we are involved in this show because we believe that cancer can be conquered. It is not the end of one’s journey. We believe that this concert is an opportunity to stand together and conquer” echo the band members together.
The benefit concert for cancer cure will be held on 6th June, 2015, 5 PM at IMC Hall, Dimapur. The concert will end with a time of worship and prayer.
