Dimapur, Oct. 26 (EMN): The department of Zoology, St. Joseph's University (SJU) organised an entrepreneurship awareness camp from October 23 to the 25
th with an aim to encourage students to create their own window of opportunities.
A press statement issued by the university on Saturday informed that the three-day camp, which was held at the university campus, was sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The inaugural program of the camp took place on October 23 with Ntsemo Ngullie, chairman of Nagaland Bee Keeping and Honey Mission as the chief guest and district sericulture officer Velhosienuo Khro as the guest of honour. It was also attended by Dr. Amenla, CEO, department of Fisheries.
While speaking at the inaugural programme, Robert Edwin Chester, registrar of SJC, "advised the students and participants not to search for jobs but instead create opportunities."
On the second day of the camp, Puhar Daimari, assistant professor of St. John College, Bokali A Chikhe and Patrick Letgong from Nagaland Bee Keeping and Honey Mission, were the resource persons.
On the last day, Petekhrietuo Medom, Sericulture field assistant, spoke on the topic “Silk Farming is the cultivation of silk worms to produce silk in Nagaland” while Hanumant Singh Rathore, assistant professor, biotechnology of Nagaland University, took up a session on “Pharmaceutical from Animals”.
About 140 participants attended the camp, it was informed.
