Dimapur, April 13 (EMN): A regional camping event for scouts and guides dubbed the ‘Camporee’ is underway at the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Dimapur.
The inaugural ceremony for the event was conducted on April 13 at the Don Bosco ground. The minister for Higher and Technical Education Temjen Imna Along attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.
Addressing participants of the event from Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Along said national integration was an important subject. The Bharat Scout and Guides are playing a great role in breaking boundaries and contributing to national integration, he said.
“I have always envied scouts uniform and there are many who feel the same. The relationship that you share is greatly valued and it is not only about the uniform but about discipline and self respect,” Along said.
Also, the legislator told the participants that when they come together they become ‘casteless’ and through Camporee, he said to be hoping that they would get to know each other and remember that they are one irrespective of the region they come from.
“Let us strive to build a strong future and at the end of the Camporee 2018 acquire collective evocative period while discovering to dream big, hold on the dream and never give up,” the legislator told the scouts and guides.
