Kohima, Sep 6 (EMN): A two-day social work fest organised by the department of Social Work of Don Bosco College, Maram, on the theme ‘Initiating, innovating for change’ was held on September 1 and 2 in the school premises.
Chief guest and Director of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University- Regional Campus Ministry (IGNTU-RCM), Prof. Ram Jeevan Singh Thakur, has acknowledged the organiser for organising such important programme for the students to open their eyes for entrepreneurship who are the future generations. He appealed to all the teachers to guide the students in the right way as they are the ideal person for the society. He also shared the enormous opportunities for entrepreneurs. NSF vice president and guest of honour, Boveio Poukai Duo, in his address, appreciated the department of Social Work for organising the programme to promote and encourage the young generation on entrepreneurship. He encouraged the students community to have mindset to change the society and have the zeal to change oneself from the narrow and small mindset of the tribalism. He said one should be proud with his/she identity and should forget their roots.
CEO of Entrepreneur Associates, Neichute Duolo, said punctuality and value of time are much important for students. He expressed regret on the education system of Northeast where most of the graduates are not unemployable. He said that social entrepreneur is someone who has the zeal for entrepreneurship to change the society.
The second session was focused on penal discussion basing on entrepreneurs and social development. On the occasion, the first ever department magazine on the theme “Flame” along with the documentary movie were released.
The programme was attended by prominent social entrepreneurs, scholars, students and others.
It may be mentioned that the social work was organized to provide platform for the young minds to have meaningful innovation and healthy interaction on broad issues ranging from academic to socially significant issue.
