Short documentary film “River Story” directed by Yapangnaro Longkumer has been selected to be screened at the International Association of Women in Radio & Television (IAWRT) Asian Women’s Film Festival 2019 in New Delhi.
The film is produced by SamajPragatiYogana and Supported by Films Division, Mumbai.
The 15th edition of the IAWRT Asian Women’s Film Festival will be held from March 5 to 7th at the India International Centre (IIC) New Delhi.
The festival will showcase over 50 films from 20 countries, all directed by Asian women filmmakers. The countries include Armenia, Bangladesh, China, Estonia, India, Iran, Sri Lanka, Syria, Turkey, Taiwan and others. There is also a country focus on films made by women from Georgia, a press release from Naro Longkumer said.
The Asian Women’s Film Festival was first held in New Delhi in the year 2005. The festival has grown in strength and popularity over the years with increasing participation by filmmakers.
This year the festival organisers received over 700 entries from 37 countries, the highest ever received.
