Dimapur, Nov. 28 (EMN): As the music lovers prepare for yet another edition of the much acclaimed Hornbill International Rock Contest (HIRC) which will be held at the Agri. Expo, 4th Mile, Diphupar, the Diphupar Naga Youth Organisation (DNYO) on Tuesday issued certain guidelines and advisory to make the mega event a successful one.
The DNYO president, Kikheto Sumi and general secretary, Matung Raikhan, through a press release, said that the organisation in collaboration with LiveNow Events (the main organiser of the contest) invited all to visit and enjoy the event in good spirit.
As many artistes from Nagaland, other states and even international bands will be performing at the 10-day long event and the event expected to be visited by many domestic and foreign tourists, the DNYO appealed the residents of Diphupar to welcome all visitors and give assistance if required.
The DNYO also said that it endeavours for ensuring public safety and smooth functioning of the event and therefore made a 'gentle reminder' to the public to kindly maintain decorum and strictly follow the rules laid down for the safety and convenience of the public.
It said that designated parking space will be allotted for all inbound vehicles; however, the entry gates will be opened on specific timings only. All food and drinks, certain items will not be permitted inside the premises 'unless officially authorised'.
The organisation also requested the visitors not to loiter around but remain within the premises 'as sufficient volunteers will be deployed at various points to check illegal activities'. It also asked the stall owners to strictly maintain the timing and adhere the guidelines set by the management. It cautioned that violations of the terms and conditions may lead to cancellation of the stall permit.
The organisation stated that a 'control room' will be set up at the venue to assist the public. It asked the visitors to approach the control room for any queries during the festival time.
Moreover, the DNYO 'humbly appealed' the concern departments to repair the road leading to the venue from the national highway and also to ensure that the streetlights are kept lighted at night for the convenience and security of the festival goers.
Meanwhile, the DNYO also acknowledged the government of Nagaland under the leadership of chief minister, Neiphiu Rio and the Music Task Force under the department of youth resource and sports for bringing yet another edition of the much acclaimed Hornbill International Music Festival to the denizens of Dimapur in particular and Nagaland in general. It further welcomed all the participating artistes and wished the best of luck to all the bands contesting in the HIRC 2018.
