DNSU warns business establishments against inflating prices of commodities

Dimapur, May 17 (EMN): Dimapur Naga Students' Union (DNSU) has warned all traders and owners of business establishments under the jurisdiction of Dimapur Municipal Council to not indulge in any unfair or illegal practices. In a statement on Monday, DNSU has warned not to practice hoarding or unauthorised increase in prices of commodities taking advantage of the Covid- 19 situation in the state. The union also cautioned that any shopkeepers and vendors indulging in such practices would be strictly dealt with. Further, the union has also urged all the traders, business houses, shop keepers to strictly comply with Covid-19 related SOPs by wearing face masks, keeping/using hand sanitisers and maintaining adequate physical social distance inside the shop.

The union has also expressed concern over the recent incident on May 16 where a

shopkeeper namely Anil Roy of Chatteshwary Colony, West Yard area was brutally beaten up at

his residence by two unidentified Naga youths. The union has appealed to the law enforcement authorities to book the culprits at the earliest and reward befitting punishment.
