DIMAPUR, JULY 2: The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) which has been actively and tirelessly involved in bringing developmental changes in the district today inaugurated 17th repaired road in just 18 months of active service rendered under the esteemed leadership of H. Atokhe Aye as the administrator of DMC.
The chief guest for the inauguration a road stretching to 1345.5 sqm was Joint Director and HOD Municipal Affairs, A. Zanbemo Ngullie.
Congratulating the DMC for their works, the chief guest under the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) are working at its best unlike any other council in the state.
He said it is the duty of the public and the colony members after any developmental changes are brought by the municipal.
Citing that the government cannot maintain everything for the public, he said the public’s participation is equally required in bringing development in the society.
The chief guest also highlighted that the public and private groups should unite and strive in bringing positive changes for the greater interest of the people.
DMC Administrator, H. Atokhe Aye who has actively been involved with the DMC’s vision of bringing developmental changes by repairing roads and constructing drainages said that it is the sole duty of every colony after the DMC successfully completes such constructions.
He said the duty of the public is to safeguard the government’s property like one’s own property.
He also said that any change can be brought upon only with the corporation of the general public.
Atokhe also maintained that DMC has been executing works as per their promises and will continue to do so with co-operation from the public. The 17th road was inaugurated at Sunrise Colony in Burma Camp.
