DIMAPUR —The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has notified all consumers and the general public within its jurisdiction that it does not determine the wholesale prices of perishable goods such as green vegetables and fruits.

In a press release, it stated that, despite this, the DMC has implemented a system of price regulation for perishable commodities in the broader interest of consumers and the public. Under this system, the wholesale prices of all such perishable items are gathered from the wholesale market daily.

The DMC then establishes the maximum retail price (MRP) for one day, with a nominal margin added to the wholesale rate, to be adhered to by retailers and vendors operating within the DMC's jurisdiction.

It stated that DMC officials are deployed at all market locations to ensure strict adherence to the market rates quoted by DMC, and that for further redressal of any complaints, consumers may contact the DMC officials on duty at 9862929908, 7005697120, and 8837207162.
