Dimapur, Nov. 15 (EMN): In order to ensure safety of food at all levels, the district level steering committee (DLSC) constituted under the Food Safety and Standards Act carried out a surprise inspection at hotels, restaurants, bakeries, tea stalls, guest house, and other public eating places In Kiphire town on Nov. 15.
The food safety officer (FSO) Zhohu Puro, according to the media officer (NHM) CMO office Kiphire, said that most of the food business operators were not complying with the food safety standards Act. Therefore, an improvement notice will be served to the proprietors directing to improve their services within a stipulated time said the FSO. He warned that those who fail to improve within the stipulated may have their food licence cancelled.
EAC Kiphire, Sangpangchang Longkumer also told the proprietors to strictly follow the FSSA guidelines and warned that those who fail to comply with the order will face the consequences. He reminded that a follow up inspection will be conducted after the given period.
