Dimapur, August 19 (EMN): Zunheboto District Legal Services Authority (ZDLSA), Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) conducted legal awareness programmes, while Kiphire District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) and Tuensang District Legal Services Authority (TDLSA) visited OST centers, observation home and District Jail.
Zunheboto: Zunheboto District Legal Services Authority (ZDLSA) organised legal sensitisation programme for district dobashis at DC Conference hall Zunheboto on August 19. At the programme, district and session judge and chairman of ZDLSA Neichochiyi Suyie, delivered keynote address while short speeches were delivered by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Zunheboto, Vekhoyi Chakesang and Additional Superintendent of Police Zunheboto, Relo Aye.
Retainer lawyer, Tovi Z. Yeptho, , spoke on Nagaland Village Council Act 1978 and Rule of Administration of Justice and Police in Nagaland 1937.He elaborated the role, duties and functions of dobashis relying on the acts and rules from the village courts to customary courts, procedures and powers to function the Customary Courts etc.
Public prosecutor Zunheboto, J. Khetoholi Yepthomi, spoke on the role of dobashis in the district with reference to Consumer Protection Act1986, Motor Vehicle Act 1988 and Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) Act 2005.
Superintendent of Observation Home Zunheboto, Aolemla Imsong also highlighted the functions of the home and emphasised the need of district dobashis role to sensitize the citizens in various fields and in assisting the law-enforcing agency while encountering with the child in conflict with Law.
Mokokchung: Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) organised

legal awareness programme for drug abuse and eradication of drug menace at care Counselling Centre, Mokokchung on August 19.
Chief judicial magistrate and secretary MDLSA, Phuleto Yepto highlighted the court based facility and welfare schemes to the users.
Retainer lawyer, Imkong Jamir, spoke on different NSLSA scheme and legal service to the victim of drug abuse and eradication of drug menace. Highlighting on NALSA scheme 2015 (legal services to the victims of drug abuse and eradication of drug menace) he urged the users to be a role model in the society.
Kiphire: Kiphire District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) team led by Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary KDLSA, Mezivolu T Therieh with retainer lawyer, Likase and APP, Sentila Aier visited observation home on August 16. The team interacted with the lone juvenile in conflict with law, the official and the family members of the juvenile.
The KDLSA team also visited Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) centre at Kiphire town and interacted with the officials and OST users.

The team noted that according to the monthly report, there are four clients formally transferred to other OST centres, 42 on treatment, 30 currently receiving OST from the centres, 17 receiving medicines for 25 or more days, 4 receiving medicines for 15-24 days, 9 receiving medicine for less than 15 days and 12 expected OST who did not receive OST or even one day during the reporting month.
Tuensang: Tuensang District Legal Services Authority (TDLSA) team led by judicial magistrate first class and secretary, N Kano visited District Jail Tuensang on August 12. At present there are 16 inmates and with the assistance of the jailor the TDLSA members interviewed all the inmates under trial prisoners. A total of 6 cases were endorsed to panel lawyers for free legal aid.
Kohima: Kohima Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) set up legal literacy club with 20 members at Legal Aid Clinic Kohima College on August 18.
