KOHIMA — Christian rock band from Nagaland, Divine Connection, dropped its exclusive single music video ‘On my knees’ on Monday after a decade since the release their debut music video in 2012.
‘On my knees’ is written and composed by Obed Kath, the frontman and lead singer of the band.
‘This is one of the songs that I felt we need to come up with a music video’, Kath said, while sharing details of the new music video during a press conference in Kohima on Monday.
He explained the song talks about coming to a point where one actually goes down on your knees and acknowledges that it’s because of the grace and the love of ‘Our Almighty God’.
Kath was accompanied by the members Akum Jamir (bassist), Khriesazo Liezietsu (keyboard), Mhaseve Tetseo (guitars) and Bendang Kichu (drums).
The lead singer said that the band had earlier released the audio version on their official YouTube channel four months ago. And he added that the video was released on Monday after receiving overwhelming response to the audio version.

In 2012, the band released a debut music video “It’s love” that was aired on VH1.
He said that the band would be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2027 and to mark the occasion, the band have plans in the pipelines and one of which is reaching out to all districts of the state with their music.
“When we initially started everything was very fresh for us, even the industry in the state. So, we faced a lot of struggles, skepticisms about pushing our music but luckily music was fast forwards back then”, he said.
The band participated in the first National Hornbill Rock Contestant way back in 2006 and stood as the first runners-up. In the following year, they recorded and released the album titled ‘El Roi’ which received good response.
Recounting the early days into the music industry, he said, everything was a challenge. He mentioned they had limitations of internet facilities, equipments, and a lot of technical challenges. But somehow, they managed to record the album which he said is still going on well.
On choosing music as a viable career, Kath responded that it is possible while sharing that he does not have a job in hand but is surviving for the last more than 20 years.
He added that they have some more songs in pipeline and would be putting them up on their official Youtube channel in some time.
He thanked the fans and followers for not giving them up despite the band being dormant for little less than a decade due to internal issues between the band members.
The music video is directed by San Production; shot at RCEMPA Jotsoma; recorded at Outloud Inc, Kohima; and additional production, Mixing and Mastering by guitarist Mhaseve Tetseo at Pro Audio Hub, Kohima, Nagaland.
