District Red Run 2025 held in Longleng to raise HIV and STI awareness among youth under NSACS and NACO initiative.

DIMAPUR — The District Red Run 2025, an initiative under the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) in collaboration with the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), was successfully conducted on Saturday at Public Ground, Longleng.
The event aimed to raise awareness of HIV and STIs among the youth under the banner “Run for Awareness, Run Against HIV and STIs”, according to a press release issued by the office of the Chief Medical Officer, Longleng.
It was stated that the run was officially flagged off by Dr. Temsusashi, DTO/DACO Longleng, who encouraged the participants to become ambassadors of awareness and health in their communities.

The event witnessed participation from youth aged 17–25 years, categorised into male, female, and transgender (if any), showcasing the district's growing commitment to health advocacy and stigma reduction.
Cash prizes of INR 5,000, INR 3,000, and INR 2,000 were awarded to the winners, who will further represent the district at the state/national Red Run level. The event emphasised not only physical fitness but also the importance of safe practices, regular testing, and the elimination of stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS.
In the male category, the winners were Anglong V Phom in first place, A Phekmei Phom in second, and Katlong Phom in third. In the female category, the winners were C. Lingoi Phom first, Langmei T Phom second, and Chahang third.
