progress.
He emphasised the importance of participation in DPDB
meetings and urged district heads to attend regularly, highlighting that their
insights and input were crucial in shaping Dimapur’s growth. Ayemi encouraged
members to engage actively in discussions and share their views for a
productive session.
The key agendas discussed during the meeting were as
follows: The board agreed to change the location for the Iconic Project under
Dimapur-I A/C, and the proposal was forwarded for further approval from the

The expansion of the road at West Yard Colony between
Hokishe Sema Road and Marwari Patti Road was also discussed, and it was decided
that the administration would write to the Army authorities at Rangapahar
regarding the matter.
The board decided that DPDB meetings would be held on the

Chümoukedima: The monthly meeting of the Chümoukedima District Planning and Development Board
was held on February 10 at the DPDB conference hall, under the chairmanship of
the Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio.
The meeting commenced with the chairman's address, where he
reminded the members that they should feel privileged to be posted in a place
with many challenges still to be addressed. He emphasised that, with their
initiative and effort, development in the district should come forth.
He pointed out that, with the support of the Chief Minister,
Chümoukedima district is receiving attention towards infrastructure
development. He urged all district officers to submit their proposals, whether
for post creation, construction of staff quarters, or any land requirements,
and to act promptly for their respective departments.
He also emphasised that department-wise action plans should
be systematic, with a keen initiative to present them at board meetings. The
theme should be to achieve better inputs and outputs for the welfare of the people.
The meeting reviewed the agenda from the previous meeting
regarding the registration of Yeknak Society, Thilixu village, where the board
had decided to recommend the society for registration to the government.
On the issue of Chathe riverbed mining, the house
highlighted the urgent need for action to preserve the Chathe river. A decision
was made to hold a consultative meeting with the village councils and to create
a documentary in Nagamese to raise awareness about how riverbed mining,
excavation, waste dumping, and road cutting have affected the quality of water
for drinking and other essential purposes.
Other agendas discussed included speed regulation on the
national highway within the Chümoukedima district, where issues related to
safety were raised by the District Road Safety Committee. The house suggested
that parking on the roadside should be stopped, speed limits should be
maintained, and the parking of heavy vehicles should be prohibited.
The house also discussed and approved the proposal for the
creation of a separate project director for DRDA. It further deliberated on the
need for State Disaster Response Force personnel and the proposal for the
creation of one post of revenue officer under the Chümoukedima district
administration. Another agenda suggested by the chairman was the proposal for a
fire service station in Medziphema town under the Chümoukedima district.
