District health society organises Health Mela

Dimapur, April 11 (EMN): The District Health Society (DHS) of Zunheboto organised a health mela at Achikuchu village in Zunheboto district on April 10. A press release informing about the event was received from the society on Wednesday. According to the press release, health services and medicines were provided free of cost to 186 patients. Various ailments including common cold and other diseases prevalent in the area were treated. MP, urine test, HIV test, blood grouping, Hb%, and sputum AFB investigation was carried out along with 26 eye screening. The community were also taught on household hygiene and other communicable diseases. Focus group discussion and one to one sessions were carried out on child health, maternal health, and HIV and AIDS.  Nutritional packages were also given to pregnant and lactating mother. Pamphlets and leaflets were distributed free, the information added.
