Dimapur, May 14 (EMN): In connection with the By- Election to Lok Sabha, the control room and complaint management cell for Kohima district has been set up at deputy commissioner office. Also, the assistant returning officer (ARO) of Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan has informed the head of department / officers / drivers under Kohima district whose official vehicles have been requisitioned for election duty for the forthcoming bye-election to report at Local Ground, Kohima on May 21 without fail. The vehicles in good condition along with driver should report as directed. Action will be initiated as per provision of law for non-compliance of the order against erring officers and drivers, it added.
Mokokchung: ARO Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal has informed that all government vehicles in the district have been requisitioned for the conduct of by-election to one Parliamentary Constituency for Nagaland 2018. Vehicles in good condition along with driver have been asked to report to the transport committee at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on May 25 at 10 am. Failure to comply with the order will be dealt with as per laws.
Peren: DEO Peren, Smita Sarangi has informed all the polling personnel that the first round of training in connection with the ensuing by-election to the Nagaland Parliamentary constituency 2018 will be held on 17 and 18 May 2018 at GHSS Peren Town at 9.30 AM onwards. It has cautioned that strict action will be taken against those polling officers who fail to attend.
Zunheboto: The district level medical board for Zunheboto district has been instituted with ADC Vekhoyi Chakhesang as, Medical Superintendent Dr. C W Tungoe as member secretary, and Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Hoito Sema, and one more medical officer to be nominated by CMO as members. It also informed that the first sitting of the board has been convened on May 17 at 11 am at ADC chamber.
Also, DEO has directed all the polling personnel to attend the training. Absentees are warned with stringent action. 1st phase training for presiding officers and 1st polling officers will be conducted on May 15, while the 2nd phase on May 22 and 3rd phase on May 24. Training for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th polling officers will be conducted on May 16, 23rd and 24th. Trainings will be held at Government Higher Secondary School Zunheboto. All polling personnel have been directed to submit two passport size photographs during the 1st phase of training.
For women polling officials and all categories of polling officials (i.e. PRO, 1st polling, 2nd polling, 3rd polling officials), a combined training will be held during the 1st and 2nd phase.
Mon: In view of the By-Election to the l-Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency, and in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure the conduct of peaceful, free and fair polls and maintenance of public order, the district magistrate of Mon, K Thavaseelan has issued a prohibitive order in carrying licensed arms / weapons within the jurisdiction of Mon district. All licensed arms holders have been directed to deposit their arms at the nearest Police Station on or before May 20. However, carrying of licensed arms for the purpose of verification at the nearest police station or deposition of the same is exempted from the purview of this order. This order will come into force immediately and will stand till the completion of the election process.
Pughoboto: Under Section 159 of the Representative of people Act 1951 , DEO Pughoboto Avelu Ruho has appointed presiding officers and polling officials 1,2, 3 and 4 (VVPAT) for the polling duty. Polling personnel are also directed to attend the trainings positively.
1st phase trainings for presiding officers and polling 1, will held at ADC Office while for 2nd , 3rd and 4th at Town Hall and grade IV at ADC office. The time has been scheduled on May 19 at 11 am.
