
Head of government schools are seen during the one-day
orientation programme at SIRD conference hall in Kohima on Friday.
- KOHIMA — Office
of the District Education Officer (DEO), Kohima, on Friday conducted a one-day
orientation for heads of government schools of Kohima district at the SIRD
conference hall in Kohima.
- An update from the office stated that Emilo Patton, DEO of
Kohima, delivered the keynote address, while Patricia Vizo, senior SDEO of
Kohima, delivered the welcome address.
- It stated that Azinu Swuro, principal of GHSS Jotsoma, and
Keneingu Rutsa, head teacher of GMS L Khel, Kohima, shared their experiences.
- On the occasion, Government Higher Secondary School,
Jotsoma, was awarded for producing toppers in HSSLC 2025 in both Arts (1 rank)
and Commerce (10 rank), while Government Higher Secondary School, Sechu Zubza,
was also awarded for producing topper in Arts stream (8 rank).
- Government Primary School, Kenuozou, was awarded for
producing topper in Primary School Leaving Certificate (PSLC) Examination 2024,
while Government High School, PWD, was awarded for producing the subject topper
(electronics) in HSLC 2025 and Government High School, Chandmari, was awarded
for the subject topper (Automotive) in HSLC 2025.

- Schools with 100% HSLC pass results in 2025 were also
honoured including Government High School, Tasazhu; Government Higher Secondary
School, Chiechama; Government High School, Nerhema Model; Government High
School, Diki Dihoma; Government High School, Mezoma; and Government Higher
Secondary School, Jotsoma.
- The award for best performing government school head in
Kohima district for the year 2025 was conferred upon Azinu Swuro, principal of
Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma.
- It stated that GHSS Jotsoma has consistently delivered top
academic results for two consecutive years by producing the state topper in the
HSSLC in both 2024 and 2025 under her leadership.
- Later in the afternoon, technical sessions were held on
various topics including ‘Highlights of DMA activities,’ ‘Highlights of NECTAR
project: capacity building and governance component,’ ‘Highlights of EBRCS
activities’ and ‘Highlights of the district education office.’
