Dist for Rengmas: Shürhozelie assures support

Dimapur, October 17 : DAN chairman and NPF president Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu has assured his full support to the demand of the Rengma community for creation of a separate district for the Rengmas, Parliamentary Secretary Er. Levi Rengma said in a release. Dr Shürhozelie extended his support when a delegation of Rengma leaders led by Parliamentary Secretary Er. Levi Rengma, former legislators Lothi Semy (interim member), Nillo Rengma (ex-minister), Dr K Kath (ex-minister) and R Khing (ex-minister), Kenny Tep, president, Rengma Hoho and Khinyi Woch, president, Kohima Rengma Union met him at his residence in Kohima on Monday to apprise him about the demand for creation of a Rengma district. They solicited his support and blessing for the same. After thorough deliberation and understanding the genuineness of the demand of the Rengma people, Dr Shürhozelie was “very sympathetic” and assured his full support for the cause of Rengma people though he is no more a legislator, the release stated. He advised the delegation to meet people who matter, specially the legislators and Cabinet ministers, and apprise them about the “genuine demand” and convince them. He further assured the delegation that he would extend his support in whatever way possible and wished them success and God’s blessing to Rengma people, the release added.
