Public requested not to panic
Dimapur, August 28 (EMN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has informed the public that a Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPE) consisting of a “mega mock exercise” will be conducted all over the state on August 30. The agency issued a press release informing about the drill. “The public is requested not to panic but to cooperate with the authorities for smooth conduct of the mock exercise. Such drills / exercise have proven to be most useful as they increase awareness as well as equips the citizens to respond appropriately during times of actual disasters,” the handout stated.
“Further, the NSDMA would like to clarify that the rumor of an impending earthquake in the state as circulated in various social media platforms has been confused with the upcoming NEPEx. The public is requested not to pay heed to such rumors but stay alert and vigilant as we work towards a safer and resilient Nagaland.”
