Dimapur, Feb. 15 (EMN): The School Education authorities have summoned more than 400 teachers across the districts in Nagaland who are said to have “kept proxy teachers in their place of posting.” They are ordered to report to their respective schools, or face action including suspension of service.

The School Education directorate issued a notice stating the order. The teachers are directed to immediately report to their respective institutions. They are also directed to send two photographs of them “one in front of the school, and the second one teaching inside the classroom,” according to the notice.

“Whereas, it was detected during the verification drive carried out by the directorate of School Education officers in the months of October and November 2019 that 438 teachers from different districts in the state as listed in the department website education.nagaland.gov.in, have kept proxy teachers in their place of posting,” the press release stated.

This is unbecoming of a government servant and violation of Rule 4 of The Nagaland Government Servants Conduct Rules, 1968, it stated.

“Now, therefore, the said teachers are hereby directed to immediately report to their respective schools and send two photographs of them (one in front of the school, and the second one teaching inside the classroom) to the mail id empreports.dosenl@gmail.com, every working day, unless directed otherwise, from their own email IDs registered with the department.”

Those do not have email IDs or do not know their email IDs registered with the department should submit the same through the concerned SDEO/DEO before sending daily reports, the department stated.

Failure to comply with this directive would lead to initiation of strict disciplinary action including suspension or termination from service, the education authority stated.
