Diphu, March 8 (EMN): The Chief Executive Member (CEM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Tuliram Ronghang assured a hostel for the women workers of Bharatiya Janata Mohila Morcha (BJMM) in Diphu. Ronghang said this during the International Women’s Day celebration held at Joysing Doloi Auditorium in Diphu on Thursday.
Ronghang said an equal privilege for women with 50 percent reservation should be made for equal development.
Showing his sympathy for women contractors who are doing contract works, but not getting bills, he assured that will be getting bills by April next.
“We have no intention of dividing Assam, but our need is to grant us the autonomous state so that we can develop more with more funds and facilitates from the central government, Ronghang said.
Also, he mentioned the BJP’s victory in Tripura and forming of BJP government in the three states of northeast i.e. Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya during the recently conducted assembly elections.
“The slogan of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi of Congress mukhti has wiped out Congress from Assam and Karbi Anglong and now from the states of Northeast,” said Ronghang.
Chairman, KAAC Horensing Bey mentioned on the great responsibility shouldered by mothers at home towards caring the children and attending to domestic works. Mother’s love is more than any other love. Compared to men, women contribute more on social activities, Bey said. Earlier, a procession was taken out in Diphu town by EKAC, BJMM.
The Karbi Nimso Chingthur Asong (KNCA) also celebrated the day at Diphu Club, while the KNCA of president Rengka Taropi celebrated the day jointly with All India Progressive Women Association and Karbi So-arlo Kirsan Asong (KSKA) in Diphu at HPC-CPI (ML) office. While the Karbi Anglong District Mahila Congress Committee (KADMCC) celebrated at Nihanglangso, Matipung.
