Diphu, May 29 (EMN): For going against party principles, the BJP has expelled 29 of its members in the upcoming Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) election in Karbi Anglong.
The 29 members were expelled for a period of six years where five of them are executive members of KAAC, D. Uphing Maslai, Dhansing Kro, Bidyasing Rongpi, Jivan Ch. Pathak and Surjya Rongphar and 23 active members of BJP.
Das announced the names of expelled party members from the BJP party, in a press conference held here at Lee Green Hotel.
He said after a thorough discussion among party leaders and members of State and Karbi Anglong including the Council head (CEM) and after looking into all sides the list of names of candidates to contest with BJP party in the ensuing KAAC election was announced.
Das also said that every ticket seekers have made their commitment to the party workers that they will support to whoever party ticket is allotted will support to that person.
However some of the party ticket seekers who have been denied ticket had gone against the party principles and are contesting against the party candidate he added.
Following the party principles, we have to take the decision to expel those members who have gone against the party, said Das.
He said one and half year of BJP government in KAAC has taken up various development works and the next BJP government that is to be formed will start from where it has stop the development activities for the people.
Further he stated that the BJP wants peace and the co-existence of all communities and tribes in the district. Keeping in view the special provision for the hill tribe people and other communities should also be treated equally so they can live together.
