The Dimasa Youth Organisation, Nagaland hosts its third inter-village tournament in Chümoukedima.

DIMAPUR — The Dimasa Youth Organisation, Nagaland, organised the Dimasa Inter-Village Tournament 2026 from July 17 to the 20th at Hazadisa village, Chümoukedima, bringing together youth from various Dimasa villages across Nagaland.
The opening ceremony was attended by H Vekuto Swu, President of the Sumi Dimasa Union, as the chief guest, while Dr. Aomangyang Walling, retired Director of the Department of Veterinary Services and Animal Husbandry, attended as the guest of honour.
K Naben, retired Additional Secretary to the Government of Nagaland and President of the Dimasa Naiso Hosom Nagaland, was also present as a distinguished guest.
According to an update, in his inaugural address, Swu highlighted the long-standing bond of friendship between the Sumi and Dimasa communities, expressing confidence that this relationship would continue to grow stronger. He also encouraged young people to actively participate in sports, noting that games and sports play a vital role in developing discipline, teamwork, leadership, and a healthy lifestyle.
The four-day tournament witnessed participation and competition across multiple sporting disciplines. Darogajan Village Youth won the men's football championship, while Doyapur Village Youth secured the women's football title. In volleyball, Disaguphu Village Youth emerged as the women's champions, and Disaguphu Village Youth also secured the men's cricket championship.
The closing ceremony was attended by Ditush Naben, President of the Dimasa Public Organisation, Nagaland, as the chief guest. In his address, he commended the Dimasa Youth Organisation, Nagaland, for organising the tournament and applauded all participating teams for demonstrating exemplary sportsmanship, unity, determination, and dedication.
The Dimasa Youth Organisation, Nagaland, expressed gratitude to Hazadisa village for providing the playground and extending support throughout the four-day tournament. The organisation also extended appreciation to the Hazadisa village youths and students and the Manglumukh village youths and students for their service throughout the tournament.
