Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Dimapur Sushil Kumar Patel, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Sara Jamir, flagged off the Ujala Yojana (Hindi for an electrification project) programme in Nagaland.
The programme was inaugurated at the administrative officers’ residential complex in Dimapur on April 14, updates from the DIPR informed on Saturday.
In the updates, Patel informed that the Ujala Yojana was a programme which is a part of special campaign Sabka Sath Goan Sabka Vikas (Hindi for collective efforts inclusive growth) to celebrate the ‘Gram Swaraj Abhiyan’(Hindi for: Village self-governance campaign) from April 14 to May 5.
The updates informed that in Nagaland the programme covered 1400 villages out of which 82 villages have been selected for the Dimapur district component.
The programme is a joint venture of ministry of Power in collaboration with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL) who are providing the vans for free transportation and the bulbs at a low price.
According to the updates, administrative officers, officials from EESL, elders and chairman of various villages attended the inauguration ceremony.
