DIMAPUR — The Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) organised a WSBAK Bible Festival at Zakenim Hall, WSBAK Mission Centre, Thahekhu village, on Saturday, with the aim of encouraging spiritual growth and strengthening faith and unity among the WSBAK community.
Addressing the gathering, Director of the Sümi Baptist Convention (SBC), Rev. Dr. Khehevi Shohe, emphasised the importance of God's Word in guiding believers through life.
He stated that God had given His Word to enable people to walk in His light and follow His guidance.
He observed that biblical accounts of people of great faith who had weaknesses and made mistakes served as a reminder that no human being was perfect and that everyone needed God's guidance, mercy and grace.
He further clarified that salvation was not attained merely through reading the Bible but through faith in Jesus Christ.
Drawing an analogy from the sinking of the Titanic during its maiden voyage after striking an iceberg, Rev. Shohe pointed out that even a magnificent and powerful vessel could meet disaster due to a wrong course.
He said the incident served as a reminder that people, despite feeling confident about their direction in life, could lose their way if they ignored God's Word and chose to follow their own path.
He stressed the need for God's Word to guide people throughout their journey in life.
The festival featured various competitions, including an original song competition, an adult art competition, an on-the-spot art competition for children, a Bible quiz, Bible cosplay and Bible Mekua Leshe.
